The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a strong strategic partner to the CEO and Executive team. They will lead and oversee the financial activities of the corporation, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance, and forecasting for future growth. As a strategic partner, the CFO will drive financial planning, investment decisions, and operational improvements across departments, with a focus on creating shareholder value and fostering company growth. Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Oversee the Accounting and Business Intelligence departments, as well as manage key 3rd party relationships that relate to the company’s financial organization and health.
· Oversee key functions as assigned at the Executive level and collaborate with department heads to create, implement, track, and drive change.
General Responsibilities:
· Strategic partner that holistically analyzes/recognizes the company’s strengths and weaknesses as it pertains to sales, operations, and the collection of cash. Is willing and able to lead the charge in making changes that promote short and long-term financial strength.
· Aids the strategic process by providing data and insight into the future state of the company, as well as the future economic state we might operate in.
· Manages cash flow in a way that promotes strong financial health for the company, as well as provides mutually beneficial relationships with customers and vendors.
· Produces forecasts and budgets that provide accountability and support for strategic planning and ongoing operations.
· Compares actual sales and profit to forecasts, adjusting future projections and budgets as necessary.
· Leads out on initiatives to foster efficiency and accuracy for all financial processes related to past, current, and future operations.
· Analyzes operations to recommend areas for growth, downsizing, or reorganization in a way that protects and preserves a strong culture.
· Studies economic trends to project future sales and market share growth for various lines of business.
· Participates in identifying and evaluating opportunities for expansion into new products or services.
· Along with the CEO manages investment of funds and works with investment bankers to provide the necessary capital to meet strategic plans.
· Directs the preparation of financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, cash forecast, tax returns, and reports for government agencies and shareholders.
Required Skills and Experience:
· Proven management and supervisory skills.
· Strong analytical and organizational skills.
· Proficiency in database, accounting, and financial systems.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Talent development and coaching experience.
· Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
· 12+ years of accounting/finance experience, with a minimum of 8-10 years in financial management.
· Experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), enterprise risk management, banking, and financial project KPIs.
· Deep knowledge of business strategy, financial planning, and shareholder value creation.
· Experience working in a family-owned business environment is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
· CPA, CMA, or MBA credentials preferred.
· Experience in the telecommunications or construction industry.
· Proven experience in generating free cash flow and debt paydown strategies.
· Capital allocation expertise and board presentation experience.
· Familiarity with tax regulations for S-Corporations.
